Thorsten Schumacher

Thorsten Schumacher initially started his career in the music business where he founded and ran Sponge, an alternative music magazine. His work in film production started at Roger Corman’s Concorde-New Horizon Pictures in Los Angeles, various independent features in New York City followed, and eventually he worked at Wim Wender’s company Road Movies in Berlin. He holds two Master of Fine Arts degrees in producing from the Film University Babelsberg and the American Film Institute Conservatory in Los Angeles. He worked in development at the LA offices of Intermedia Films before relocating to London in 2003. He has been with Hanway Films since and runs the company as its Managing Director since 2011.
