Karl Spoerri started in the entertainment industry at Schauspielhaus Zurich, where he was as a member of the ensemble from 1993 -1996. In 1997 he founded the Creative Artists Managment AG a marketing and talent agency (CAM). CAM quickly became on of the leading agencies for actors, directors and writers in German-speaking countries. The agency also consulted companies on entertainment marketing. In 2004 Spoerri acquired the rights for the digital film festival onedotzero, which he co-organised in Zurich. Currently he is the Artistic Director of the Zurich Film Festival which he founded in 2005 together with Nadja Schildknecht. Working with the Zurich Film Festival led to his activity as a film producer. Spoerri is a founding and board member of SPK Picture AG. He is an executive producer of David Cronenberg's A DANGEROUS METHOD starring Keira Knightley, Michael Fassbender and Viggo Mortensen and THE OLD MAN AND THE GUN by David Lowery with Robert Redford, Elisabeth Moss and Casey Affleck. Since 2010, Spoerri is chairman and founder of the Zurich Summit - an annual international platform for film financing and production. It takes place with international opinion leaders at The Dolder Grand.
