Rudolf Matter

Rudolf Matter is the Executive Director of Schweizer Radio und Fernsehen (SRF), the market leader in television and radio broadcasting in German-speaking Switzerland. He is a historian holding a Masters degree in history and philosophy and started his journalism career as a newspaper editor in Basel. Since 1976, Matter has worked in various positions as a TV journalist. He joined Ringier AG in 1993 where he developed and mana- ged the TV program "Cash TV". In 1997 he joined the news channel n-tv in Berlin as Head of Business News, and was later promoted to Director of Programming. In 2006, Matter returned to Switzerland as Editor-in-Chief of Schweizer Radio DRS, an entity of SRF.
